I've got a brand new theory on how to work out what music to listen to when riding. As follows:
1. strip down your bike to just the frame with no components or anything on it.
2. thread a piece of string or wire through the head tube.
3. hold the frame up by the string or wire making sure it's not touching anything.
4. flick the frame with your finger nail and work out the pitch of the note. This can be done with a guitar tuner or any half decent musician freinds you may have.
5. rebuild your bike.
6. Take this note and use it as the root note for the key (ie. if it rings an E then you're in the key of E major (or minor if you feel sad))
7. Get the afore mentioned musician friend to find you a bunch of songs in that key, and play them whilst you ride.
The theory being that rather than specifying a genre or an artist you specify that the notes in the song harmonically match your bike. Therefore you will be "in tune" with your bike.
