'geniusrider'

I made a $1,000 purchase via PayPal goods (not gift), now the pinkbike history says: [This message has been removed, user is a scammer or spammer] - record of the item and messages have been removed

Be careful of this one. Simple requests for more photos resulted in him blocking me. Seems like he was trying to bully me into a sale w/o info. Highly sus.

Nonsense. Told him I wasn't taking any more photos bc I'd already sent him some. Fussy buyer I had no time for. Told him this wasn't the frame for him, so hardly bullying him into a purchase. Then he sends me a friend request on facebook. I want nothing more to do with him.

^^Like I said, suspicious seller who seems to want an easy mark. Everyone knows properly documenting the bike's condition in case of frame damage PROTECTS the seller.

I see, you were only ever looking to protect ME. Sorry I completely misunderstood you. Now, please go buy a frame elsewhere. Goodbye.

If I get the frame with dents in top tube/headset/etc. and it hasn't been documented, then USPS says that's how they got it, and you say its USPS's fault. If it has been documented, and in the condition you claim, then its obviously USPS's fault.

Being "too busy" to take proper photos (yet apparently plenty of time to reply here) implies condition of frame is not as seller states. Like I said, sus seller.

Not sure if scam or not, hoping someone knows.

Really good price on that Pinarelllo, but that ad says it's something to do with buying a house, and his other ad for the Wilier says it's due to a bad back injury. His location says New York, but the bikes locations say Canada.

Ask him for more pics of the bike with a handwritten note in the shot with anything random you can think of written on it - easy to ask, you'll find out if he blocks you.

Plus all the photos in the folder say they're in Canada Quebec.. Strange

Also, all three bikes he's got for sale are all madly different sizes... Another head scratcher.

https://m.pinkbike.com/u/ysspls/. This person’s listing for a bike frame stolen from thepaceline.net. Be careful.

https://m.pinkbike.com/buysell/3683172/ Can someone help me out with this one? He sent me a pay pal goods and services invoice and mentioned it’d be sent via bike flights but his messages just feel off. Also our first chat thread disappeared right after he sent the invoice. I sent another message and he’s answering all of my questions about his fishy-ness, but I’m reluctant to send a bunch of money off even if it is covered by PayPal. The price is too good to be true and typically that’d be a scam. I just don’t want to miss out if it’s for real.

User name is bikingbare

Get a verification picture before you send any money. If he says no then avoid.

Thanks, I asked him for a photo of the bike with a handwritten note next to it and he deleted our thread. Verified scammer.
