Not really that high for 4.2Ghz...I had mine running pretty much the same temps at 4.17Ghz. Here's my Rig specs:

Cooler Master HAF 932 Case

Intel i7 950 Bloomfield, 1366soc
Evga GTX295
Thermaltake 850W PS
Asus P6TD Deluxe Mobo
6Gb OCZ 1600 Ram

Currently cooled by water
MCP355 Pump
Black Ice High Flow X 120mm x 3 Radiator
EK Supreme HF CPu Block

Right now I have all my settings back on stock...Plan on getting a new Fermi Card and a mobo upgrade this winter.

Here are some pics:

Pfft, up your game man that rig will obliterate crysis and 4 copies of gta IV open and still have time to render a 10 minute long 3D animation with your specs smashing into eachother and exploding into pieces lol

Need a new PSU, should I get cheap(er) ones, or go for a high end one? I don't intend to expand this computer much, it's good enough, maybe a new processor, OC this one, or better GPU, but anyway, I think this PSU is 350W.

Also, my processor is currently running @ 16ºC... wtf.

I would say around 500-600w watts if you arent intending to expand too much, and get it from a brand such as antec/thermaltake and you should be ok. This will be enough to let you upgrade graphics cards for example, and anything under probably doesnt warrant upgrading to.

Cheap power supplies are a real gamble. The voltages are unstable, the rails have low ampage and they run hot and noisy. Furthermore, if a psu breaks, it can damage your whole system unless it has anti surge which is a feature most cheap psu's lack.

Yeah I've heard, doesn't sound like fun, I have a few back up computers, but they all suck Razz
I really think this PSU has reached its end, the fan is noisy and it doesn't start sometimes, probably due to internal damage, there was a pretty nice one at the shop, 40€ sleeved wires, 450W, do you think 600W is necessary? I won't be getting such a powerful GPU, just a low level ATI radeon, or maybe stick with Nvidia(not sure if my mother board is compatible with ATI) just want to run my monitor in full HD, and maybe play some games with higher settings.

Your board will be compatible with any GPU brand (as long as you have a PCI-E slot) and you want to make sure you get a good PSU from a name brand. I have a dual core system, 4gb ram, 2 hard drives, hd5770, i have a thermaltake 450w psu and i would say im pushing it Smile

Im running a AMD Phenom 9950 Black edition quad core, which alone draws 125w, 6gb of ram, Nvidia 9600gt, 2 hdd's, multiple fans and i get by with the 430watt i have. - thats pushing it.

regardless, my new 650watt modular antec psu arrived the other day for christmas, along with my new case and graphics card.

That's the thing, the current GPU is onboard, FMC(f*ck my computer) I'll check, it's not really a must, 1680 x 1050 is okay with a 22 inch screen I suppose, all I do is code...

and fuu @ 125 watt for the processor...

Meh, the six core black edition processors draw 140w.

What voltage do they operate with? I see 1.2~ V, if so, that's a lot of amps... Eek
