I think this bike should be the beginnings of the ALL MOUNTAIN RATBIKE forum. Bikes have to be custom hardtail builds and well ridden with a mix of parts that provide value and performance, not 12,000 stock carbon super bikes cause then any rich guy could just win.

Anybody?

I like that.
If carbon frames with carbon cranks and carbon bars are eligible, the distinction between this and the Sexiest Hardtail Thread gets a little vague, I think.

I don't really wanna say carbon is out, but it does seem to contradict the ratbike ethos. Timelessness, durabitliy, functionality, punktionality, madmaxatality... I'm not sure carbon is what you buy for longevity, or survive armaggedon, or having laying around in your bin of spare parts most likely, and if you did you probably wouldn't cobble together odd bikes. This is not rational, it's just a feeling which is hard to describe and I think as people post what they think to be ratbikes we'll start to get a clearer picture of what that means to most people. In the end it's just cool to see bikes that aren't super clean high end builds that are well appointed and colour coordinated.

I think it should be added.

You can fix it yourself if it breaks.

If were talking longevity.

Imho, perfect rat material is steel.

it's interesting...looking for ratties is the total opposite to the sexiest thread...but not without a kind of aesthetic

Too many nice and new parts to be considered a "rat bike".

Is really sexy though!

Ride the crap out of it for two years with no new parts and it'll be a great addition, haha.

So brown and old aren't prerequisites then.

I agree an old stinker isn't a ratbike
