for pro's the bike makes even more of a difference hahahah

Give Minaar a Demo 8, ask him to ride a trail.

Give him then a 951.

I bet time difference is less than 5 seconds. Why? Because he is a GOOD rider, he knows how to ride a different bike from almost the very first time.

Is the same in motorsports, and in almost every single sport. The better the rider, the less difference the machine makes (but the most importance)
Five seconds is a HUGE difference in DH racing....

ok...

Give Mignaarl a TAG wheelset, ask him to race a WC

Give him 1750s.

I bet the difference is large.

You cant state that, because you dont know how long the trail is. If I tell you the trail is 3 miles, is not a huge difference. In the World Cups, some times between the 1st and the 2nd time difference is more than that.

I dont thing so. One of the wheelsets will be more likely to brake/dent/bent. Apart from that, if both wheelsets stay true, there should be no difference.

I think what makes a huge difference is suspension settings and tires. That's probably where everybody can feel the real difference (of course everythig makes a difference, but tires and suspension settings are dramatic)

Im just giving my point of view and explaining it. It seems like you just state yours, giving no explanation... This is a forum, I'm not trying to convince somebody, I'm just giving my point of view. If you can't live with that, maybe a public forum is not your place...

Peace,

Ivan.
