I think cougars are the thing I'm scared of most in life. There just such a bad ass animal, basically the only thing that will attack and kill you unprovoked and 95% of the time you dont even see it coming. Do weekend dog-walkers count as critters? They're those humanoid-esc like creatures that escort canines around the hillsides, characterized by an obnoxious tendency of refusal to move out of the way despite polite notification of you [the cyclists] presence which shortly after results in their favourite canine companion being run over by an all too annoyed cyclist.
Dog walker's dogs are probably the largest critter I've had the pleasure of running over, but I've only encountered two that required me to pass them over-the-top.
I hit a bumblebee and it got wedged between my glasses and my face... Stopped that bike on a dime!
Same thing happened me. But I breathed in and the b****** stung me on the inside of my throat before being lodged in my lungs somewhere. I have never felt anything like it. Lucky I wasnt allergic to bee stings.

amen to that! Wow. That could have been a serious deal breaker.... Glad you're ok! I saw someone get stung on the eyeball by a bee before and she dropped like a stone....
