or you can buy a small 13 inch frame hardrock and build it up for a dirt jump

For all you hardrock slagging c*nts out there i'd like to say that the hardrock is an amazingly versatile bike. I've just done 136km at afan in wales on red runs in a week, all i've done to the bike is new forks and new front wheel build. It munched the uphills and bent the downhills over and took them from behind. The bike is amazing, i bet you wont find another sub £600 hardtail that wont go wrong with that much beating. And i'm mainly a DHer so dont give me shit about pussying the downhills, i had to replace seven spokes on the rear wheel over the week!!!Whip

get the right size hardrock frame and you can jump it fine
put to big forks on and the frame will snap
but they are nice and easy to ride for everything

why would you buy a hardrock for jumping??? they arent made for jumping! they made for XC and maybe light AM but thats it!

People that bash hardrocks just because they are cheap are c*nts. I've had mine for about 2 1/2 years and the frame is fine. I've done plenty of jumping and xc on it and its fine. I wouldnt use it for DH or FR because obviously it wasnt designed for that but its holding up just as well as my brothers Hoss Deluxe and its older.

Dont bash it just cause its cheap

When I bought my hardrock, I thought it was the greatest bike in the world for me, the guy in the shop told me it would easily do jumping, downhill, freeride, so maybe he was a moron, but this is going on my third year now, I've ridden at fortune a coupe times(my local dh track), I've done some park, I've done some jumping, and I've done a fair amount of all-mountain riding. This bike may not eb the greatest, but I like it alot, I'm not syaing I wouldn't buy another bike if I had the money, but the only reason I dumped 800$ into it this spring was because I would not have been able to get a brand new bike with as high quality parts on it for that much. Many people say why not go buy a used bike then? But i think I trust my bike alot more than somebody's used beaten up old frame on the verge of snapping.

O+

belive me i know. i used to ride agressivley on a rockhopper. it just came apart kinda slowly.
first the fork than the wheels than the crank.. it just dont worth any investment. if it dies - get a new bike dont try to turn it to something its not
