For me it was just trying it. Found a little place near me in Delaware that has some real nice XC trails and some Shore stuff (teeters, skinnies, etc.). Once I started getting a little better I fell in love. Now I'm getting more into the FR/DH side of it. Still learning the DH aspect, but this summer there are big plans to hit up different mountains on the east coast. Going down is much better than going up (In my opinion). Don't plan on quitting anytime soon.
started out with a raleigh m20, but I would say joe perrizo.. always super friendly and fun to ride with, didnt treat me like i was an annoying little kid. and always did cool tricks!
I love skiing, and I love ski flicks. They're like bike films, except with skiing in them. When Nimbus Independent (great film company, responsible for Idea and Hunting Yeti) decided to release their project Hunting Yeti in a series of webisodes through Rip.tv, I began to watch.
Also featured on Rip.tv is DropIn. Yes, that drop in. Epic mountain bike tour... It familiarized me with freeriding (which I barely knew existed) and the cool stuff that goes with it, as well as teaching me a great deal about the important aspects of Canada's geography.
And now I ride a bike in the mountains, as opposed to just on the road as I did before.
