As far as I know, Balfa as a bike manufacturer no longer exist, however Balfa UK still exist are the only UK dealer/distributor/service centre for Foes Racing. The current bikes are now called Appalache (the Appalache Real is the continued design of the BB7 pictured. tup

AND i work for Honda, i tried to get hold of one of there DH bikes ! no joy, they CRUSH them once they where finished with them. there might be one flowting about ?

I heard one was stolen from a race minus the gearbox

the gearbox was just a mech and cassette in a box anyhow if im not mistaken, not really groundbreaking tech like the G-Boxx Wink

Second generation honda used a mech but the first generation honda rno1 did not.

Gear box as such for the masses and yet it never took of,people must like their feeble mechs still.

I admit I love my "feeble" mech as marquis put it so politely, but I'd love to try a G-box just to see/feel the advantages/disadvantages for myself.

lol i love mine too,but gearbox does make sense and the it1 was a bike for us mere mortals that couldn't afford million pound mountain bikes with xxx gear boxes as it used a shimano nexus 8 speed hub,could have been designed around a roholff too at a push.

If G-box bikes were more affordable (and I had disposable income), I'd buy a G-box equipped frame in a heartbeat. As it stands, I think the most affordable one is made by Diamondback?
