i got 2 seasons out of a super tacky highroller in the back at bromont when i was nub. ya bromont is basically riding from one rock to the next. i think skidding has a very different impact and effect in different areas and trails. on #7 (a-line wanna be) i never ever skid my rear end, no need 2, on the rest of the mountain there are areas where you have to, i remember watching a canada cup dh race and the top 15 riders all skidded there tires in one area because it was the only way to line yourself up to be able to hit the next obstacle, i am not sure if it was a brake educed skid or a force induced skid, all i can remember is that everyone did it.
i often run minions ( run at 28 psi ..lowest ever ) , less than 20 psi. ?? I'm curious for anybody to post if they run at theese pressures.. 20 psi is Tiny... so There ya go...if any of you run at these psi's I'm curious to hear,

When it gets really muddy in the South I've run as low as 18psi with great success.
ya same... this place i ride at has a lot of steep off camber trails... i'll drop my super tacky high rollers down to 20 or 19 psi... it's not uncommon to see that kind of pressure in a FR tire...
on my dh bike i won't go below 35 psi or i'll end up with two flat tires
While this is not "on topic", try running DH tires (with reinforced sidewalls). I always run 20psi in my tires with zero flats, riding through rock gardens at full speed. Try something like Kenda Nevegal w/ DH CAP-PLY, Maxxis DHF/DHR (DH version), Michelin 32's, etc. They are heavier, but you'll never have to change a flat. (Worth the extra weight in my opinion!) I've only changed ONE flat tire in the last 4 years I've been riding. And it was an old tire.
