I own a banshee wildcard and i was wondering if a dual crown forks would be alright on it?

why'd you do that.. its a light SS/Fr bike and in case you dont wanna lose your warranty you should stick to a max 180mm single crown fork

maybe an older dual crown forkk w 180 mm

It's more about the travel than the amount of crowns. Something light and not too big like a Manitou Dorado should be alright

how would an 2005 180mm boxxer be?

ok i guess.. and i am guessing..

but why would you mess it up with a dual crown?

People run double crowns on hardtails all the time, a 180mm fork on a wildcard isnt that strange at all. the a2c on a 180mm boxxer is going to be less than, say, a totem.

leave the fork on their it came with... putting a dual crown fork on is just going to rake the piss out of it, make it handle like pooh, and you'll probably snap the headtube off. the bike is set up for a certian crown to axle height, going much bigger changes the head tube angle too severely, and thats when you get into front tire hitting you in the face territory. If you wanted a dual crown fork, shoulda bought a dh rig.

it is made for a 180mm fork so wouldnt a 180mm dual crow fork be fine

yes he is just retarded. people wouldnt be pissy if you put a totem on, and that would rake out the bike and be more likely to snap the headtube than a 180mm boxxer. dont know why you would want to put such an old fork on such a nice bike though. get a fox 36.

try reading posts instead of being a retard. a 200MM BOXXER is only 2 MM higher than a 180MM TOTEM therefore a 180MM BOXXER will have a LOWER A2C than a totem. f*ck.

Dude, theres nothing around here for you to need that much travel, i rarely even use my fork all the way out to 160, youre gonna ruin the bike man, its possible, but not advisable, you should have gotten a scythe or something if you wanted to put a dual crown on it.

for what it's worth, most single crown forks have a taller axle to crown height than a dual crown with the same ammount of travel. that means that a single crown will rake it more. Did you know that the 2010 boxxer (200mm travel dual crown) has an A2C measurement a whole 3 millimeters longer than the 2010 totem (180mm travel single crown)?

Yeah but it's still not really logical to run a fork over 160mm on a wildcard, 160 suits it so well.
