Ok so I have the 2008 Truvativ Stylo 1.1 Crankset. I guess it's not that I need help with removing the crank set, it's replacing the bolt that holds my cranks together. To get to my bolt that holds my cranks together on my non driveside crank I need to take out a larger ring shaped thing that holds the bolt in place. Does anybody know what tool should be used?

I think that larger ring is an auto extraction thing - loosten the bolt and it will press on that and remove the crank. I have some stylo cranks too but i havent tried to remove them so i dont know for certain.

You might be right, the problem though is that I snapped the bolt in half. I snapped the bolt in half before and I took it to my LBS and they removed the outer ring with some tool, that i'm unaware of.

Before you screw it up, remember most self extractors are reverse thread. Make sure you turn the correct way.
