Right is a GT Chucker better than a Mongoose Fireball?

Yes, the chucker is better than the mongoose IMO.

i mean look at the frame? I am quite biased because the chucker is my most hated bike! Really Mad

Anyways, i say mongoose. Alternatively look at the Scott Voltage YZ 0.3 and a pair of second hand forks if you dont like rigid?

Those are both quite bad. But I'd definitely take the Mongoose.

how much are you paying for them?

Posted: Jun 7, 2011 at 19:27 Quote
I hope it's not retail...

Would be better to spend an extra $100-$300 on a used, with better components.

I believe they all retail around £400 but you can get them probably closer to £350. Still, you can get a decent second hand bike for that money with some searching and a bit of patience Salute

well my dad is thinking of trading in his road bike because he never goes on it. My mongoose has been a bit of a let down. It had to go in the shop 3 times due to the gearing f*cking up.The forks have started leaking already and the brake pads went after a couple of months. But apart from them niggles it has been good but a pain in the arse.

What model/year did you have?

ok, so i am buying myself a new brake...
xt vs. xtr vs. elixer R vs SLX
what do you guys think?

Just get an Elixir R.

Cheapest out of the bunch.

not actually... slx is 90, the rest are floating around 130.

xtr, because of its crome awesomeness and light weight
