Can you guys recommend the steelhead as a good all mountain/xc bike?or is it a dirt jump specific bike .Im 5'4"tall and planning to get a small size frame, and planning to have a geared drivetrain

I am riding an 05 steelhead in an all mountain/xc fashion and it is "alright". But there is a big caveat here and I will explain.

As of right now everything on the bike is second hand - unfortunately my bike prior to the azonic was stolen so I was just trying to build this bike up on the cheap. For example, the frame itself is a bit small (I am 5'9" and I went with a smaller frame - might even be the small but I can't recall exact size off the top of my head) because it was only 40 bucks. Similarly, the fork is also an older marzocchi 66rc with 150mm of very plush travel. So as of right now when I am trying to get from place to place I look kind of funny. The front sits up high and the seat post is maxed out - subsequently climbing is a bit of a pain in the ass. BUT it is a single speed so I am spending a good portion of my climbs off the bike anyways. With all that being said, once I do get to the top and go to turn around and come back down this bike really comes to life. It is a TANK, that can take a beating but at the same time the handling is such that it inspires a lot of confidence.

In fact it is so much fun that I have decided to invest a bit more into the bike. I just bought some lighter wheels and a fork with travel adjust in hope that I can drop down the geometry in order to make the climbs more reasonable. We shall see. Hope this helps
