i worked it out using front sprocket divide rear sprocket times wheel size and 36-18 was 52. 36-16 was 58.5. is this a good gear for street and dj

the 36-18 would b if u want 16 on the back you need a 32 on the front to even start 2 move Smile

36 - 18 would be ok but you might wanna look at a 32 -16 setup

Personally I thin I'd go 34 - 18

You must be pretty small pallol I usually run 32/12, but I'm bigger than most bikersPimp Beer

It would be cheeper to change the rear cog than the sproket but a 36 tooth is pretty large for SS. If you were in BC I'd trade you a 32 for that 36 but SOL Wink

i weigh 130 and i am 5'10 haha yes i know i'm scronny but would this set up work up work for me?

Didn't mean you were scrawny, but anywho if the ratio works for you it'll be fine. If you have the 36 on your Stuff run the 16/18 tooth on your cassette to see how it feels and which you like better.. tup

it dosent really matter cuz you will get use to you ration anyways

The most simple equation for gear ratio on a single speed hardtail is relitavely simple, its a basic 2:1 ratio... so if your front sprocket is a 32 try a 16 tooth rear and so on...i think i got 34:16 not quite 2:1 but its a good ratio...

I THINK!! i just figured it out

ok so i just beat cancer and im to weak to ride my super custom highly modified Super V500 beast but i really really want to ride again as i couldn't ride past 2 yrs so i just rebuilt a custom marin larkspur cs2 2015 a 700c nothing was left other than the awesome wicked reinforced frame and custom rims and hub all rest went to trash and the dude said give me $125 and i said in my mind HELL YA im going to rescue this bike from the landfill as i did the same with the super v500 but the superv had nothing left just frame but any way.. the whole point and idea was and is to build a lesser lbs bike and some kind of bike that i can some how maybe ride as in the condition i am its only been a month since i beat cancer but i got a 18t cod for the back and 36t, 32t and last week got a 16t because couldn't get the chain right than 16t and 32t worked i took it for a ride and it was to to hard to paddle my legs are f'ed and my bode sorta felt like i was going only uphill just after i read this post i just not put 16t back and 36t front and took it for a ride in my hallways..Sh..t felt amazing !! i think i can do it i think i can ride so thank you!!!! i hope i can go maybe 10 blocks 20 blocks 50 blocks and so on, before i got sick i ride downhill 50mph or 6hr ride and now i have to rebuilt myself like i do with all these bike its going to be amazing i think, i never built a signal speed so it was sorta confusing with the 2.0 2.1 gear ration not same as MTB

if pics work..YES i did put in another straight fork to match the beefiness Smile tho cost as much ($105 used with s/h in good condition) as i paid for the bike but i think worth it and yes i did paint the fork brown to match the grips and seat.. the whole paint and building with awaiting parts, took me 1.8 months i think not to bad
