So i just picked up a new 2011 Kona Operator for $2250, the last one in the shop. I was torn between getting this or the new Norco Traux, for a little more. I think i made the right decision. I love this bike! It feels great, the cockpit is awsome and it feels just right.

And it feels soooo light compared my 2003 norco team ns. lol.

It handles like a dream, intial i thought it was cheap construction cuz it wasn't as burly as my norco, but this bike is strong.

Any other operater fr owners in here?

Looks like you upgraded your forks, did you upgrade at the time of purchase or did it come witht the bike?

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay?

I upgraded at the time of purchase. The bike was on sale for $2400 plus the fork, headset, stem, etc worked out to about $3200...minus a trade in on my cyclocross bike came out to about $2500 incl tax.

I just got my brand new Operator FR on Monday and I absolutely love it! Just one question though. How did you manage to put dual crown forks on with a tapered headset? Headset reducer? New crown race?

When I bought the bike, the shop installed it. They used a new headset which included a new crown race. I'm not sure exactly what they used...

This thing has seen upgrades since that picture was taken: new rear shock, avalanche cartridge in the fork, saint shifter and derailleur, zee brakes, e13 chainguide. It's now closer to a supreme operator than anything...
