Hey man, live in Sandy and I've been doing southern trips with the next one coming up Mon. and Tues. Hit me up!
Hey man, check out the CVMTBA group on facebook. It's small right now, but you can get linked to other riders, and other more established groups (like the CVFA) and find other guys who ride!
Hey I will be living in Logan for the summer. What kind of riding is in the area? I am a gravity rider, but I am planning on seeling my DJ for an xc bike. I also have a DH bike that I might bring. Whats the word?

There isn't a whole lot of gravity riding in the Logan area, just a few shuttle-able trails. There are also some fun spots within a few hours drive from Logan. There are plenty of dudes up here who ride Gravity though.
I know it's mostly a site containing XC trails, and is very much outdated, but it's a great place to start. Usually if there's a trail system already in place, the DH runs aren't too far off. Also make friends in the Logan area by going to volunteer trail building days or at races and you'll eventually hear through the grapevine of places to ride. I've been here for four years now and just this spring I've got three places I really want to ride that I haven't yet... then again I kind of ride everything so I got to warn you that the DH specific areas are far and few between... which is kind of sad being Utah and all. But some of the runs that Utah does have, they're the most epic trails you'll ever ride. For example, take the Flying Monkey DH just outside of Vernal/Virgin
I'm applying to USU in Logan for grad school. Mountain biking is a big part of my life. I'm from the east coast, but I've traveled to WY, MT, ID. Can I expect a high abundance of good quality trails in the area? I've heard good things about the Logan Canyon, but nothing concrete in terms of trails head locations, average length, or type of riding. What's the scene like? Any tight knit local mountain biking associations in the area? Can anyone elaborate or steer me in a good direction? Sorry for all the questions, thank you. -J
P.S. I'm talking about in the immediate area surrounding Logan. I'm not expecting to be able to drive down to Green River or Slick Rock every weekend.

Hit me up, too drunk to do it now but got some suggestions
Cache County has a large number of trails for the more XC oriented crowd. I'm more Gravity so I find that the trails tend to lack the adrenaline I seek. However the scene is growing here. A few of the riders around here are working on making a good mountain bike advocacy group because there isn't a good one yet. Like up the Cache Mountain Bike Alliance on facebook.com to join the scene.
So, I've been accepted to USU for grad school. Super excited. I'm hoping the riding is as good as I'm expecting, but I am sure it will be a dramatic improvement from the North East riding that I'm used to.

It's... different to say the least. I wouldn't say it's better because NE can be really tech, slick, humid, tight but out here it can be more fast, flowy, switchbacks, rocky, moondusty dry, not as tech but the hard stuff can take a bit more courage. Depends on what your flavor is to determine where you like riding best.

Welcome to USU, i may see you around campus.. The trails around here can be fun! Let me know if your interested in riding some time.
Anyone going or have been to Rampage? I have tickets, but it's pretty hard to find info on the event. The little bit of info I have found says that you have to hike or ride into the event, about 6 miles. Does this sound right? Do people camp out at the event site? Are their concessions, particularly beer?
P.S. if anyone is looking to carpool down let me know. I may have an extra ticket as well.
