well i think the status is a great looking bike and the specs are pretty good, but i can't help but think it looks very similar to the bighit with a little tweaking to geo and the rear link.

what will you be riding? like terrain/trail type?

for racing: Demo
for a park bike: Status

even if i was riding mostly park i would still ride the demo, cuz it jumps really well and it plows through the rock gardens

i agree with josh. i have an older demo 8 and compared with some of the dh bikes i've onwed it's the most comfy and easy to ride and rail on.

That's what I meant haha. Anyway, I ride mostly bike park stuff and local trails with technical stuff like rocks roots etc. I'm also planning on racing a few downhill races this summer (first time racing). I see myself more as the freeride type than downhill racing. Any suggestions on what bike I should get? I like both the Demo and the Status but I'm not sure what would suit me best.

joshua loves mtb summed it up pretty good. although it really depends on what you want!

personally, i dont understand 7" 'park' bikes and would rather just modify my 8" bike to be more 'park friendly'. but then again, ive always really been into FR'ers that do freeriding on a DH bike.. i just dont see a point for a 7" bike when ive already got an 8" bike that will do the job no prob tup

with that said, ive seen the status at my LBS and i was not impressed.. im not a spesh kinda guy. but id never buy one of those things to begin with (or any 7" bike for that matter)

again, all preference. (as you can see, ive clearly stated mine)

why are you chatting about 7" bikes, status and demo both have 8"
