I’ve had several Transitions throughout my riding life, but my two most recent have been my favorites.

2021 Scout, fully customized with carbon rims and Onyx hubs, Ohlins coil, Hayes Dominion A4s, and matching bronze bling. I actually just sold that one and regretted it so much I picked up a new one a week ago. Haven’t finished building it up yet.

Also, just finished this beauty, my 2013 Double. New Fox Float DPS, Profile Racing cranks, sprocket, and bottom bracket, Hayes Dominion A4 brake, and the cherry on top, Ohlins RFX 36 m.2 coil fork lowered to 120mil. Haven’t even ridden it yet.

Transition Patrol XL
-Cascade Components Link yielding 180mm of rear travel.
-Avalanched SSD Tuned Bomber CR
-2013 (yes 2013) Manitou Dorado 27.5" 200mm
-TRP DHR Evo Brakes
-Hope Pro4/5 - Chromag Ba30/Phase30 Wheelset w/ gold Sapim nipples.
-Continental Argotal 27.5x2.6" Enduro Front, Kryptotal R 27.5x2.4" DH Rear. Rimpact inserts in both.
-Unite Co. 165mm Cranks
-Raceface Atlas Pedals
-Hope 50mm DM stem
-Protaper Bars
-Oneup v2 Dropper Post (240mm)
-Beat to shit GX eagle drivetrain

It's 43lbs, It goes downhill fast, It's still playful, and it climbs well. And I don't mean "climbs well for a DH bike" or "Climbs well for 43lb" It just climbs well, full stop. It climbs better than many much lighter, shorter travel bikes I have had. I have scrambled it up some of the most technical climbs my trails have to offer. I don't know how or why but it just does. Have had this bike for 2-1/2 years or so and tried a lot of different setups. The DH fork was pretty eye-opening though. Was originally an experiment but it is here to stay. This old Dorado is so good I can't even imagine how the modern one is (someday)
It's stupid by most people's standards but it does exactly what I want it to do, exactly how I want it to.
27.5" front end w/ 200mm fork is pretty close to stock geo.
It is the best bike I have ever had
