I raced DH for a while and that bike looks perfectly fine.

Just save up for a proper DH bike or even a short suspension trail bike.

as a starter bike thats fine, i would upgrade it and try to save up for another bike at the same time, basically, ride the hell out of that, save all your money and fix bits when they break

I suggest short range gearing and maybe even a chainguide.

just work hard and keep saving until you can buy a £1000ish second hand DH bike and then go from there. use your money to maintain that!

this maybe beneficial, but why waste money on this bike if hes doing alright on it? would it not be better to put that money towards a new one?

I'd also suggest changing the angle on your brake levers. Salute

Nothing, it just looks a little steep, on a techy DH track, you spend most of your time hanging off the back of the bike so with the brake levers that steep they might be hard to reach, see what I'm getting at?

yeah fair enough, most of the stuff round here isn't too steep so that didn't cross my mind Razz the so called dh round here is more like rough 4x hahaha

Are you planning on keeping your hardtail? If you are close to getting a DH bike with money you could sell it for a few hundred. Might be worth it if you are just short of a really good bike.

i paid £450 posted for my kona stinky with fox 36s, x5/7 gearing etc, save up some more, sell that bike and keep an eye out for good deals. soon enough something good will pop up in your price range

thing is i really love hardtails Smile i will probably stay hardtail till im 18 and stopped growing that way i can spend money on a decent dh bike and it will last also when im older i can get a job and then money will come quicker. what do u suggest i upgrade on the bike atm, i also find that the frame i have atm is a little long and a bit awkward to ride i feel fine on it but when i watch my self ride i see a real awkward stance on the bike :/

DH on a hardtail just makes it harder for yourself surely? a short travel fully would probs be best due to your age
