I've got a Mega 290 frame on its way at the end of May and am confused about whether Nukeproof are suppling a firmer tuned shock given the various adverse comments made in reviews. Does anyone know for sure?

Finally got my Mega 290 frame from Ubyk and can now answer my own question. They now ship with a High Volume sleeve rather than a Debonair one so have listened so some of the criticisms in reviews. Still building it so haven't had a chance to try for myself. Beautiful looking frame. Big Grin

Would it be worth buying 11 speed shifter/derailleur/cassette/chain for a 2013 Nukeproof Mega Am comp, for around £160. Upgrading from 9 speed Sram x9 to Sram nx 11 speed?

No reason not to. I have a 2013 mega am with 10 speed XT and in no position to change the whole bike so when I can I'll be getting the 11 speed XT M8000 upgrade kit.

AMS honey comb, will give you some protection,or an old tyre or innertube, doesn't look too great but will protect the down tube better than a rockguardz.

Cheers, was looking for something a bit tidier than a tyre/tube, will take a look at the honeycomb.
Cheers!

Are there bottle cage mounts on the downtube? I cut a piece of polycarbonate and bent it with a heat gun for my older Mega, works pretty well.

Downtube protector made from acrylic

Quick question - what's the max width tyre you can put on a 2013 TR 26'er?

My current wheels which I'll be swapping to the Mega have a 2.2 Conti on the rear at the moment. Was thinking of changing it to something slightly beefier.

Yes, this headset has been designed for frame with a 44mm head tube and tapered fork.

edit: Look to customer reviews! Some of them had issue with with lower cup.
