Can I do this without doing a damping leg oil change?

I don't have any of the suspension bits apart from a bag of float fluid and susp grease. I'd like to take a spacer out to hoik my sektor solo air's from 130 to 140mm.

Can I just unscrew the lowers, hold them in a clamp face up, take apart the spring leg and rebuild without having to mess with any suspension fluids? (as the fork is almost new and does not need it)
