I have to get new pedals and I have a problem. I had metal pedals, and I loved the grip. But now I have been thinking about plasctic pedals. So heres the problem, how is the grip with plastic pedals compared to metal pedals? Which should I get? Tell me your experiences. Thanks.

pc:

cheap, light, nothing to maintain.

can't use them if your shoes are wet. they don't last very long(can't rebuild).

metal:

expensive, lasts a lot longer than the plastic ones (rebuildable)

hurts more Madder

a lot more grip, even when wet.

the good ones can get as light or even lighter than pc ones.

from my personal experience, save up for a good metal set, you will end up replacing plastic ones every few months which in the long run, is a lose.

if you still end up getting pc pedals check the odyssey jcpc, they are pc body with metal, replaceable pins.

Thank you. I liked the grip, but just saw many street riders using plastic and thought if I should give a try for plastic ones, but now I think I'll get the metal ones.

if you want a super grippy pc pedal, look into the flybikes pc pedals. by far the most grip of any plastic pedal i've ridden. super thin and durable too. plus a 6mm allen key broached into the axle so you dont need a big pedal wrench.

Plastic pedals are lighter than the metal ones and dont hurt as much when you slam them into your shin! I would vouch that metal pedals have better grip than plastic ones, and are plastic pedals are quite slippy in the wet as Csight said.

I love my deity compounds! Plastic body and metal replaceable teeth! They're super thin and fully sealed.
