that its natural that the earth is heating up. al gore said that the last 9 of 10 hottes years in recorded history were in the last 13 years or somethin like that, but in fact, 7 out of the 10 hottest years in recorded history wer in the 1930s. also, the post war had the most "harmful" gases (carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide), the temperature went down! and when the dinosaurs wer alive, the whole world was tropical and extremely warm, and ther was 3 times the amount of carbon dioxide in the air then ther is now. another fact, scientists have found that ther are always a certain amount of "black spots"(dont know the real name) on the sun, and the more ther are, the hotter it is.also, how could canadians and americans effect the weather when 7.5% of usa and canada combined is inhabited by people.

so thers my little rant

Do you have any sources for these claims?

Thanks.

yes thers a video on it on google video called the great global warming swindel and also u should talk to/read lolle greens book or even call him. or talk to steve matley. also, kyoto being related to global warming, is also bullshit. sending billions of dollars over to china is ridiculous

I doubt China will benefit much longer from Kyoto...they are building coal plants like crazy and will surpass the US in coal usage for energy. Since the emissions trading agreement is based on per capita figures, we won't see this lack of benefit for a while. But as long as Kyoto is still in place and China is a part of it, the industrialization process will ruin them. That's my opinion anyways.

also, if we go forth with kyoto, we will be in economic hell. we would be pretty poor

Natural? their aint nothing natural about the temperature's going up, about the amount of vegetation being destroyed and the amount pollution that is occurring now. Madder Madder Madder

Their could be a million natural reasons why the temperatures went up in the 1930's, maybe a major volcanic eruption occurred releasing excesses green house gasses, maybe the earth went into a more elliptical orbit in those years, maybe their was a natural phenomena that scientists still can't explain this present day, etc, etc, etc.

For you second point:….again there could be a neutral phenomena that caused these temperature drops in the 'post war' period.

As for the other information that you gathered it is probably just a whole lot of twisted bullshit that people have made to convince you 'global warming' is not occurring, and that humans can never affect this ‘mighty’ Earth.

Also for the last point... trust me 7.5 percent is more then enough percentage of land covered by humans to seriously affect the world. The amount of crap that comes out of these cities and towns annually is just insane, and it's not like the Earth can take anything you throw at it, a perfect example of this is how the global average temperature has raised by 1.5 to 2 degree Celsius. 2C that's nothing right? WRONG, even a 0.1C difference will significantly affect the environment. And remember this is the average temperature, some areas the temperature will drops by 5C others it will go up by 5C. These temperature swings may seem like nothing for humans but for the diverse and delicately balanced eco-system this will be game-over, everything will die and once it's starts species that really on other animals will starve and die of.

One of the largest extinctions that has happened in the lifetime of the Earth is now. In the 1100's it was estimated that a species gets extinct every 10 years (humans already had an impact on the Earth at this time, however it was minute), today a species goes extinct every 30 minutes, and that number is just growing.

In addition although its called “global warming” it doesn’t mean the Earth is actually warming up. As the ocean conveyor belt shuts down due to the excessive heat eliminating the force that drives it (salt falling to the bottom of the ocean and as water freezes in the south and north poles) some parts of the world will begin to heat and cool significantly by as much as 20C or more. At this point the weather will be out of control, and an ice age will begin, most scientists agree the earth will stabilize and the ice age will end, but at this point (in thousands of years) many species will be extinct permanently (i.e.: humans).

This is just some of the events that will occur, not all of them , so yes ‘global warming’ is happening and its not something to take lightly.

Yeah I have proof... I was trying to point out is that the coincidences that you wrote were false, and that if you pollute more things aren't going to get better as they seem (temperatures falling as you wrote in one of the points).

To me, the thing that kills the idea of global warming was its alter-ego of global cooling that came out in the 70s.

There was a downward trend in temperatures for a lot of areas in the world for a couple decades, so the idea of global cooling was slated. At first it wasn't taken too seriously then the news got a hold of it and made a big to do of it and of course people believed it. The main things it was blamed on were the ever popular aerosols. Sound familiar?

Fast forward 30 years and everything is pretty well the same. There's blame placed on human activity (fossil fuels). The earth is shifting its axis. Idea was seen as a crackpot theory at first but then got jammed down everyones throat until they accepted it (Everyone that's seen An Inconvenient Truth is now an expert climatologist). The only difference is that the same water that was going to freeze and kill us is now going to flood and kill us.

To this day, very few people are even aware of the global cooling theory and I think the same will come of global warming. That's my opinion on the matter at least.

so ur saying that polluting will make changes differ, not necissarily up? well that really doesnt make sense. and for the record, i am agaist pollution but its not effecting the temperature

What I am trying to explain to you is the point you wrote: “10 hottest years in recorded history wer in the 1930s. also, the post war had the most "harmful" gases (carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide), the temperature went down!”. Although they had the most harmful gasses who ever wrote this point is trying to convince people that if you pollute more the temperatures will go down, however this isn’t the case temperature can go up or down because the system on Earth is so complex. For example if you pollute in one area the temperatures their may drop, however in another area they may go up, because of a disruption of certain cycle.

And trust me polluting does affect the global temperature, because it has already taken is toll (raising the average Earth’s temp by a couple degree Celsius).

There was a program like that over here in the UK. Then a few days after it was broadcast, (i cant remember exactly what happened) one of the UK's higher regarded climate officials basically just said the figures used in the program were wrong.
nice try i guess though.

Al gore and his lunacy eh.... When he was running for president he had only one measly paragraph about helping the environment in his entire platform (which was something like 10 plus pages). But now he makes it seem like its the only thing that matters anymore.... Do you want to know why?? Its because there is money to be made with this scandal... The people who push this theory along are big companies with deep pockets who in turn can sell "environmentally friendly" products to idiots who will pay twice as much for the "not so environmentally friendly" counterpart.

Take for instance And Inconvenient Truth... If you remember the graph he has with the correlation between CO2 and temperature... Gore points out that the temperature follows the CO2 levels but if you look at it closely you'll see that the CO2 follows temperature. and just look at the graph in general... It quite clearly shows how the temperature has fluctuated naturally over time...

I highly doubt I'll be able to convince anyone that it is fake cause most people I've talked to are so far up their ass to realize the truth about this hippie bullshit.

Can you explain how it's natural to have smog alerts pretty much everyday of the week in the summer, also why is a river by my house all the colors of the rainbow? hmmm atmospheric phenomena? No! dumping and all that shit, plus pollution. Yeah All Gore was just trying to get elected by making all the videos but believe it or not, most of it the info is true…

Also the reason you saw the temperatures naturally go up and down is because of rare occurrences, such as asteroid impacts, lava fields opening up and spewing toxic gasses, etc. After these events were over the Earth restabalized until another event occurred, these events were not caused by man (so the would not be “natural”), I don’t think the dinosaurs were making coal plants back then and releasing fumes.

As for the energy-efficient stuff, yes you some company’s will make big money off of it, but shit its called “energy efficient” for something, cause it uses less electricity!!

al gore started his campage agaist global warming to get back into the media spot light. this summer was a lot cooler then the summer of 2006 on vancouver Island and our winter is well its winter weve have two feet of snow already and sometimes we lucky if we get 5 cm before christmas. The media is just using Global warming as a scare tactic to contol the public and to keep them in fear and to buy "green" products like smart cars. back to al gore on saveing the enviroment how many presentations does he make on climate change all around the world. he flys in airplanes drives to citys wastes paper creating programs for the presentaions. it global warming is happening and its caused by humans al gore isn't helpping anymore then a "no beliver"
