I really wonder why they don't, i mean I have broken a few visors and it just looks stupid without them. I wish there was somewhere that i could buy them, it would be super helpful

That would be the fist company that has that, thanks for the info though.

Yeah TLD seems to be on the ball. Quite a few visors on CRC too, for all sorts of helmets.. I bet if you emailed a helmet company or talked to your LBS they could order one in. Just doesn't seem right to not have em available!

I know right, finally someone agrees with me!

When I buy a new helmet, the first thing I do, is to make a mould of the visor/peak.
It's fairly simple to do, and allows you to make replacements at your convenience.

Making a composite visor this way, is a $5 matter, and takes like half an hour to do.

Keep an eye on Huckingkitty.com, I'll make a writeup there at some point when I get more time.
I have a new helmet that needs this, so I can make pics of the process, once I get around to making it.

Probably safety reasons
You hit your helmet hard enough to break a visor you SHOULD replace it. Most don't but it's a good idea

I'm gonna collect my DIY projects in one place, to not have the whole thing spread out in bits and pieces, all over the forums.
It's easier for me to put writeups there, and simply link to them from whatever forum I'm at.

The profile pic, is of the carbon SiC pads, made for the Carbon SiC brake rotor.
It's a DIY project I made a couple of years ago.

That is not right. You can easily break the visor, without causing any damage to the helmet.
Heck, mostly I've broken visors during transport (661 flight helmet).

A DOT helmet is rated for 1 impact including just dropping it while standing still and alot of Cheeper bike helmets are not even DOT rated
But it was just a guess anyways
And if your breaking visors during transport take it off atleast I would

While you're right about the classification, I still take it with a grain of salt.

To be honest, I'm too lazy to take it off during transport Rolleyes I know I ought to though.
It's easier to just have a spare with me, in case it happen (ok, when it happens).
