A man named Marryshwartz was selling that bike until a few days ago. But now the name has been changed to molenjohannes.

I had a run in with this person recently. Was looking at getting a fork from him. Lots of red flags in the way he interacted with me. Then the conversation disappeared from my inbox.

^^ I'm curious to learn how this scam works? As in what can the scammer do with a screenshot of the transaction? Just trying to learn. Thanks.

Search Reddit forums. There's two or more parties involved on the scammer side and they use your screenshot between them.

Most definitely a scam because:

1. Account is very new
2. Price is too good to be true
3. He said he's out of town but still can ship
4. Referred to the bike as the "product"
5. Name is ridiculious

What do you see when you search for someone who has blocked you?

PS. Seems like there's a HUGE wave of new accounts selling items at low prices... I don't know if this is normal or an extraordinary spike. As a pattern it's easy to spot once you know what to look for but I feel for the un-informed, trusting members of PinkBike. I was one of them, happily sending over an e-transfer until i smelled something recently and it made me learn more. It's a scammer pandemic!
