The forks you mean? yes they are freeride forks but the mini dh is really more of a a freeride frame.

i think a 888 would be too long as my 66rc2x is 555mm high, and the 888 is 567mm long,

you can counter the rake as you could use the -1 degree head tube insert, and have the same head tube angle.

yes this would be the best way to counteract the super raked out head tube you would have, so i way say that if you have to put on a 888 make sure you put the headtube in the +1 degree setting
still i rode the miniDH with a fox 36 and there was nothing i was scared to ride with that fork on it except a couple rock gardens you would hit at 40-50kph, which is pretty rare unless you race a lot
