Hey everyone, Im moving to Ketchum Idaho early next year and am wondering if what anyone would recommend as a type of bike to have while living there if I'm only going to have one? The two I'm torn between are the 2014 650b trek Slash 9 or Remedy 9.9. I've looked at a lot of pics and it seems like it's mostly xc type trails out there so I'm wondering if a 160 bike is overkill. Is there any technical stuff or am I going to be just fine with a 650b Carbon 140mm travel bike? Thanks for the advice.

Everything around town is super smooth, however the 'bigger rides' you would be happy with extra travel. It just depends on what you're riding. I ride a 29er SS rigid and with front fork as well as 29er LT just to mix it up.

I race and ride a Scott Scale 710. 5 " travel is plenty. Ketchum has some of the best trails in the northwest.
