hey guys i currently own a specialized demo alloy 2013 and it weights 17.7 kg 39.02lbs
looking to get an evil undead next year and i want to drop it to 13.6kg 30lbs or close to.
money aint problem ..
what do you think would save the weight but not compromise the performance of the bike

Why specifically such a low target weight?

But basically air shock and fork,
Carbon seat post, bars, spacers, crank arms (X0), Run it tubeless or very light tubes.

Have a look at the ENVE composites stuff, for bars, seat post, wheel set (thought deemax's aren't too far off in weight there)

Even then.. he will have to make choices in spec which reduce longevity/reliability (imo)

Something breaks.. throw more money at it. Wink

No, in all seriousness, I agree with your point, I don't see why one would aim at getting it that light because it might reduce longevity and reliability like you mentioned. My personal build is down to 15,3kg (33.7lbs) and that feels light..!
