Hey there thanks for taking some time to help a stranger out, my question is how good or not good would a downhill bike be for just regular riding on the streets rather than downhilling?, i am dying for a downhill bike but with more gears rather than less, im looking for sexy bikes like bighits and scott high octanes etc, the reason is simple their sexy and cool aha, anyways please help me understand how a downhill bike wilk perform on normal street use, flat, downhill, and uphills, also if you have, can get or know anyone with a sexy downhill bike please hit me up PM me or text/ring me on 07450127361

DH bikes are really heavy anf take a lot of effort to pedal.
Look at all mountain bikes

Seems pretty heavy. Should be fine as long as you don't intend on doing long rides uphill.

I had High Octane when they came out, mine got obliterated on a 30ft drop city-downhill style ;d Also with newer DH bikes you can get the weight down under 18kg with no real effort. I would suggest doing more research into it before buying a legacy High Octane.

the answer is that a dh bike will be terrible to ride on the street unless its down a hill!
on the flat or climbs it will be a nightmare and just get annoying.. also it's more likely to be stolen

i'd strongly suggest building your dream dh bike, but having a cheap crappy bike for normal stuff..
or if you mean proper street, then a dj/street bike is very cheap to build

the other option is all mountain, which might suit you if you're not gona be doing anything massive

I dont mind i dont plan on going hard or exterme just a lil ride around like n hour maybe? Hmm i was think a scott high octane with a triple chainring setup for xc mode would be light and okay?

Why not the scott high octane is really light and comes standard from the factory with 3spd upfront
