Cracks in chain - Metal Fatique? Shimano Ultegra CN-6701

In 2 years done 2,000 miles, 1/16" of wear with regular lube and cleaning. Not good Will not be buying these chains again as this looks dangerous. 3 cracks in total along the chain, all on same side. Don't think it was faulty fitting as came fitted on the bike and never removed/reversed/shortened/used power links
