I want to see if anyone else has had a similar issue with their Monarch Plus Rc3 rear shock?
When the shock is cold - i.e. hasn't been used for >15mins, there is a very defined notch about 1/4 of the way into its stroke. I can both feel and hear the notch.
However after some aggressive riding - the shock heats up, the notch disappears, runs smoothly and the bike feels 10x better.
I sent the shock to Fishers (UK Sram distributor) about 3 months ago who returned it and said there is nothing wrong with it. The problem went away but has since returned and is worse than before.
I've had it looked at by mechanics but they aren't sure what's causing it. My next move is to send it to a suspension specialist like Flotec or TFTuned but that'll be pricey!
If the shock is faulty and needs replace - what are my chances of getting YT to send me an x2 instead?!
It seems I have the same problem with CF Comp 2016. It occurs only when it's pretty cold, below 5 Celsius and disappears after 15 min ride if it’s not freezing. I made the air can service and changed the shock pushing and it didn’t make any difference! The next thing to check again would be the rear end bearings, but without the shock the rear end moved pretty smoothly.
Do you have new ideas what’s wrong?
after a year of riding monarch rc3 im getting something maybe similar. feels like a thud whist pushing through the travel. I get a slight hissing sound in the first part of the travel until it gets the hard spot (thud) and then feels normal below that. Seems like air in the dampening oil. like its riding air then suddenly gets oil through the damper. Hoping anyway, so a bleed of air might fix it.
Help Please !! I've had my Capra for 2 problem free years , and has simply been awesome. However, recently decided to strip it down and give it a thorough service, including a new set of bearings all round. That's where my nightmare began. If anyone has any experience of removing the linkage, main pivot and horst bearings I would love to know the best way of doing it. A video would be great as there's nothing I can find on the web that helps. Anyway does anyone have a Rockerarm for sale ( mine is now bent, trying to remove a bearing !!) Cheers.
Just received an email from YT telling me to not use my bike due to the Float X2 issue. Anyone else get this email?
I would hope that everyone has gotten this email if they registered their purchase
I find it really odd how this has played out.
Some corroborated information so far
"under certain conditions the aircan may rupture"
"if the aircan has 250 psi MAX written on it, its not part of the recall and can be used and/or sold"
Call me on this, but i think the whole thing is about a stupid sticker to cover thier arses in the event of a seriously unlikley overpressure/heavey rider situation.

Yeah the notch I described is definitely more of a thud. It has gotten progressively worse recently.
It is also worse in the cold. I was riding the bike in Madeira in 25+ degree heat and the notch was annoying until the bike had been ridden hard and the shock warmed up - then it worked flawlessly.
Now back in Scotland, I was out on the bike yesterday and the notch stayed the whole ride. Bike isn't feeling great at all.
I'll try take a video tonight and post it on here and send it to YT.
