Anyone knows if the new 2018 Giant remote lever will work with 2016 Contact SL Switch dropper? It's a bundle with lever + wire and in pictures it looks like it's not the same end cap on the wire. I'm only interested in the lever, to be used with existing wire.

hey guys, looking for some advice. I have a 2016 Reign 2. its currently a 1x10 with a 30t chain ring and 11-36 cassette. Im looking to bump up my cassette to a 42t or 46t. Does shimano make 10 speed 11-46 that will work? I know ill probably have to go to a long cage derailleur cause the SLX isn't going to cut it. So I'm looking to upgrade the cassette and derailleur and possibly the chain ring to a 32t if i can get a 46 cassette. Any advice will help.

so shimano only makes an 11 spd 11-46? I might try that out, i want a 46t for my out of shape legs. But ill still have to go with a long cage derailleur right? will i need to if i just go up to 42?

In theory it should just fit on normally, I don't believe it needs a special freehub body

yes the 11-46 is only available in 11 speed, i have the 11-42 deore cassette on my 10 speed slx deraileur (stock on 2015 reign 2) with no modifications other than a longer b screw I bought from wolftooth

Okay, thanks for the help guys. Im looking at the SunRace MX3 (http://www.sunrace.com/en/products/detail/csmx3). Its the 11-46. And any 11 spd long cage Shimano derailleur will work with this? can i not do a 10 spd derailleur?

you need a 10 speed derailleur if you are going 10 speed, 11 speed derailleur only for 11 speed cassette sorry for confusion

I did some reading online and some people said an 11 speed shimano derailleur will work with a 10 speed shifter on a 10 speed cassette, with a 10 speed derailleur you may need to add a longer b screw, I don't know with the 10 speed, I haven't tried it personally (anything bigger than 42)

Yeah i know it'll work. I have a 10 spd derailleur on my 7spd DH bike. I just have the limit screw pushed in so I cant shift past 7.
Im just confused as to which derailleur i need for a 11-46t cassette.
