I need to buy a new pair of biking shorts as mine have worn away pretty easily.

I do a combination of freeride and downhill.

I'm looking for something durable, comfortable, and NOT too expensive.

I don't bike in the rain, so I don't need anything water proof.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.

I really like my Troy Lee moto shorts. They can be a bit noisy when pedalling, but they are awesome for downhilling.

fox makes good cheaper ones, 661 are super nice but pricey same with raceface, real nice but kinda pricey, and roach makes OK shorts kinda bland, all black

the troy lee moto shorts are alright but a bit short and rubs the paint off of your bike
the royal racing shorts look nice

I just ride with cargo shorts most of the time. I dont like the feel of allot of the MTB specific shorts, but i would buy a pair if i could find some with some comfotable enough fabric.

Sombrio Rev shorts are super comfortable and so far pretty hardwearing
But Mace evac shorts are indistructable.

I tried on some Specialized shorts and they really impressed me! Comfortable, adjustable, and they looked real nice. The only reason I didn't buy them is that they were $100. What a shame, because they were really nice!

Yep, I liked the Fox ones too, but I couldn't find a size that fit me. I'm 130 lbs, and it's hard find shorts my size.

I like my mace shorts, They have a nice silky lining, and something like canvas on the outside. Comfortable yet tough as nails.
