Anyone need Uzzi SL/SLX rear parts?

Came into an Uzzi SL frame this weekend at a swap meet with a huge pile of spare parts. I haven't gotten through everything to see what exactly I got, but I know I have the following:

1 - Uzzi SLX seatstay (has the wider link mounts and non-replaceable mech hanger).

1 - Uzzi SL Seatstay *SOLD*

1 - Uzzi SL/SLX Chainstay *SOLD*

1 - Uzzi SL 02 rear link (three holes)

1 - Tracer rear link (three holes)

All the rear pieces are polished aluminum, not painted, and in very clean condition. The Tracer link is ano black. They will ALL need new bearings...in fact, if I have time, i'm going to press out all the old bearings.

If anyone needs anything, let me know and we'll work out a deal.

It looks like the SL Seatstay and Chainstay are sold. I still have the SLX seatstay, and I have SL links and a tracer link too. I'll update the posting.

I have an assortment of links, for both the SL and SLX, and a tracer link (which fits the SL or SLX also). All these links work out to different travel/geo settings. Of course, i'm not sure which is which...I know I have one tracer link, and one one-piece SL link, I also have two sets of two-piece SL links and one set of what I believe is the two-piece SLX link. I also have a pile of hardware - shock mounting bolts, rear linkage bolts, seat tower bolts...etc.

Depends on your starting point..."increasing travel" is relative to which version you have. The two-piece plate links that I have allow you to use the following shocks (and resulting travel):

6.5x1.5 = 4.5" travel (BB around 13.75 or 14.15")
6.5x1.75 = 5.25" travel (BB around 13.75 or 14.15")
6.5x2.0 = 6" travel (BB around 14.85")
7.25x1.75 = 5.5" travel (BB around 14.5")
7.25x2.0 = 6.25" travel (BB around 15")

You can keep going bigger, but to me a BB height above 15" is just too high. If you can find (or make) a pair of SLX links (they are 1" longer on the upper side than the SL links that I have), you can mate them with the SLX chainstay that I have to go all the way up to 7" of travel with a 7.5x2.25 shock.

The Tracer link I have listed will also fit, and alters the geometry of the frame quite a bit...it will allow slightly longer shock without steepening the head tube angle (however the extra space is not enough to make the jump from 6.5 to 7.25 without affecting the headtube, it will just mitigate the effect somewhat). The Tracer link is limited to 5" of travel no matter the shock length due to interference issues.

All of this depends on the link that your SL comes with. I'm assuming it comes with the same one-piece link that was most prevalent on those bikes. It's not impossible that it will come with the two-piece plate links that I have.

Ahh yup...that's the one-piece link. It has two geo settings, but is travel-limited to 4.5" due to interference. So the plate links I have will give you more travel options, assuming you can source the right shock.

But I have to admit, i'm very partial to the 2002-04 Enduro...it's a FANTASTIC frame, and you can swap a 7.875" shock in there by simply flipping the link to maintain the exact same geo, or go with a 7.5" shock with the flipped link to slack it out real nice. You can easily make a 6.5" travel bike with a low BB and 67-68* HT with that frame. I'd avoid the 05-07 design as they are known for chainstay snaps, and you know you won't find a spare at this point (unless you can find an SX trail frame...those have beefed up chainstays and more travel options).

hmm im stuck between an 03/04 enduro pro complete for 300, or buying an 07 enduro frame with PUSHd shock for the same price and spending more to build it up. you think the 03/04 is better for aggressive allmountain? other option is a supermoto frame to build up

The 07's came with the Specialized AFR...does the one you're looking at have a Float? The 07-09 Enduro (SL) is the one Enduro frame I have never ridden, so it's tough to say. It is a 6" rear travel frame in stock form, however it still only has the 1 1/8" straight head tube, so there are not alot of advantages there outside of the newer revision of FSR. If it has a PUSHed Float, i'm inclined to say it will be awesome though.

A complete 02-04 Enduro for $300 is a fantastic deal though, may be tough to beat that. Building up the 07 SL frame is going to cost ALOT more.

If you are riding on the "heavy" side of all-mountain, you will appreciate 6" of travel, but considering you are only paying $300 for a COMPLETE 03, swapping in a longer travel rp23 (or similar) would not be unreasonable money-wise, and still leave you well under the cost of building that 07. There has not been a whole lot written about the durability of the SL frame, which probably means it's very durable.

think i might go with the 03/04 complete. seems to have mostly xtr parts and whatnot. coming from the 2000 im sure the difference will b great. definitely need 6" in the rear so ill be looking for a nice replacement shock w/ lockout. while the 07 deal sounds great, its not as great, altho depending on shipping costs of the complete maybe ill buy both and swap over parts! thanks for all the info, sorry for the thread jack!

Hi I know this thread is probably dead but if you still have parts available from the Uzzi SL i could use the rear linkage.
