Hey guys!

Im doing everything i can to NOT pick up a hammer and a flatdriver and knock out the headset. Ive emailed c-dale, who told me to get My bike to My local cannondale-store and They would sort it out. Wich is out of the question. Ive emailed dr cannondale in Germany who didnt understand My question (six mails later i was told yes, They had the standard fsa-shit headset in stock, damnit...)


So, over to My problem.
I wanna Know what measures the cannondale chase 3 from -06 has in it's headtube. Anyone here that has changed the standard fsa to something easier to maintain? It still works, therefor i Dont want to miss out on two weeks of riding with My bike in pieces, the measures must be out there!

The info i got is that it's headtube is Made for a 1,5 steerer. But with the fsa, it's reduced to 1 1/8. What am i looking for?

a nukeproof or hope is available for a 1 1/8" steerer and work well

but you can also get a headset for a 1.5" or a taper steerer if you need to

I got a straight 1 1/8 steerer, so i need some kind of reducer headset, right?

Ive asked crc aswell, and They Also told me to take out My current headset and measure the tube, wich im doing everything not to do..

you seem to have a straight 1 1/8 steerer on you fork. =SS

the cups can be external =E or internal =I

I would expect that a lower external cup would be best so the controls on top of the fork do not hit the downtube.

and internal top cup will give the most flexibility of bar/stem adjustment.

so a 49IESS is the spec I would go for.
