Hi guys, i'm planning to upgrade my SB5C rear shock. Current rear shock size 7.785x2.0.

Possible to install a 7.785x2.25 shock? Anyone tried it before?

Considering Fox Float X EVOL or Fox DHX2 Coil.

Thank you.

I asked the same question as I have a spare Float X in that length. The official answer from Yeti was a very clear NO.

I was looking to do the same thing and found that the "Fox Float X Factory Shock 2016" comes in the 7.785x2.0 size but I'm not sure about compatibility. If it's only dependent on that size we should be good to go.

That size works on the SB5.5C, not on the SB5C.

So where did you end up going with this? Curious as I have a new 2016 with DPS EVOL and Fox 34 FIT4. I'm missing my Float X plushness and same with the 36. If I replace the DPS with a X2 I was considering the 2.25 as Fox uses the same shock with less travel internals on the 2.00 length and the SB5c seems to have have more room to move past the 127mm with no binding(removed the shock and measured all rear suspension movement). Thanks in advance!

Relevant to my interests, considering giving this a shot. Deflated the shock, compressed all the way, and it looks like it could work, first thing to hit would be the rear tire on the seat post tube, bigger/taller tires would make this happen sooner of course. Combination of proper air pressure and volume spacers to get the right sag and short of the tire hitting the seat post...why wouldn't it work?
