I've ridden Fox for a long time but I kind of want to see what all the hype is with the Pike. I've had the Lyric before but it was too much travel for my rides. I need about 160mm of travel and I'd live to be able to lock out or at least come close. I would also like for it to be lightweight. Any suggestions?

opinions are like....

It's all about the rider. Today's forks are so good that the differences are negligible.

X-Fusion due to what you get for the $. (not to mention "modern" offset).

In my opinion I'd give the MRP Stage a go. The ability to adjust the air volume externally and so easily is too cool.

Having run a Pike on my main bike most recently, i've just swapped out to a '16 36 RC2.

The Pike is lighter, has an easier to use compression adjust that you seem to be looking for, and the bottomless tokens are easier to install than the volume spacers on the Fox. That said, I prefer the 36, the small bump compliance blows the Pike out of the water, and i like the ability to adjust both high and low speed compression. Also, the 15/20mm compability rocks, it means i can steal the meatier front wheel off the DH bike with just an axle change.

FWIW, my Pike was starting to feel harsh, and wasn't looking too pretty inside (about 50hrs use?) and was updated with the 2016 Charger sealhead which i then rode a bit more on. I reckon the Pike is a very, very good fork, but i just prefer the feel of the 36.

I also run a lowered Marz 350 CR on the hardtail, and at its pricepoint, that is a pretty good fork in itself.

The best ever 160 fork i've ever had was the Marz 55 Ti. Hands down the best feeling fork (if you lucked out on fitting the stock Ti spring). Can only pray for a Fozocchi 36 RC2 Ti now... Razz ~~~~~~~

Thanks for the info. I have always been loyal to Fox and frankly their customer service is top notch. I want the lightest most versatile fork i can get, but my loyalty to Fox will probably win over every time.

O+

Sektor might be "ok" if it came with your bike, but compared to other forks, they aren't "best".
My bike has a Revelation RCT3, and I would not suggest them as "best" either, maybe "pretty good".

I actually bought them from CRC to put on a hardtail I'm building been having issues finding a straight 1 1/8 and they had good reviews and I only paid 400 bucks for them
