Looking for opinions and experiences. questioning which is the best of the best? Weight/strength/longevity/performance considered.

KMC X11SL DLC
YBN SLA211 Titanium
Shimano HG-900 11
SRAM PC-XX1

KMC.

They're just the best. They last the longest and i've never broken one.

That said, CRC had ultegra chains for about £10 when I was building my new bike. So I just settled for that.

Only chains I've ever run are Sram. Only chain I've ever snapped was Sram. Take from that what you will.

Second one shimano

Kmc easy win. Light strong easy to install and shift well and last longest.
Shimano snap and have a stupid pin joint system. Expensive
Sram heavy. poor shifting, poor wear rate .

500lbs on DH bikes to be specific... on mobile and CBF, can do later if you insist: pretty sure I have pics from the last race I did somewhere

500lb is 226 kg's! Not that I'm doubting you, but that's quite heavy.

no you have every reason to doubt... i got my math wrongRedface

only 440lbs (or 200kg if you live in the metric world; which i do...)
fact still stands: never broken a KMC chain

So I'm guessing that at 61kg I'm probably never going to break a KMC chain then.
The only chain I've ever had break on me was a brand new xt chain, but that could have been the installation from the LBS.

wouldn't think so

i went through a full set of shimano chains in a couple of months (broke an HG53, then a 73, then an XT and got given an XTR, snapped that twice and gave up on them all together, all breakages were fixed with sram powerlinks)
broke two PC-971s, bought a KMC Z9900 and ran it trouble free for three years on two cassettes then replaced it due to wear
currently running X10G and L model 10 speed ones and yet to skip a beat on them

When i am using shimano chain, i am using kmc link connection.
It will make it easier fo me if i want to clean my drivetrain and it will eliminate the possibility wrong instalation.
