Mine did the same thing after being sent out for the recall. Had to service it... Somehow the seals between the air and the oil damper circuit was shot so oil and air could mix making a right mess.
That would explain the quantity of oil that was in the air can. Probably best send it off for a service then - which is a shame as it's relatively new. Absolutely amazing shock though, so I'll take this one on the chin.
Does anyone have an X2 that squelches when it has been stood for a while? Once it has been compressed a few times it is fine, however, when it has been stood it makes this noise. Any help?
I did, twice. I sent the shock to my friend, he's a suspension specialist, the oil seems getting dirty so he perform a full oil change and internal system cleaning and went well for 6 months, then it squelch again. Yes the oil mixed up with the air and it seems have an issue in the system, this x2 shock also known for its short service interval. Now i send it back again for the second oil flush but he reccomend to use a fair thicker oil (12wt rather the standard 10wt), he do this to other x2 shock and it went well for quiet longer time. It seems the thin oil are more easily to slip into the air system.
