Upgrading my cranks to a 1x system

I have a sram x9 truactiv 2x crank with a 10 sp cassette and am looking into getting the sram x1000 gx 1x (both gxp). I'm just wondering if that'll work with my derailuer and chain ? Or what else I need to get. I have a 2013 trek slash 8.

So are you looking to replace the crankset? honestly it would be much more cost effective to simply buy a 1x specific chainring, such as a raceface narrow wide (kore, renthal and many other brands have great options as well). You could then look into a one-up type system or sunrace's new 11-42 wide range 10 speed cassette. If you dont have a need to climb then you should be good with your current cassette.
