I'm making the jump from flat pedals to clips, and trying to give it a proper chance, I'm running giro chamber shoes and love them. but I find I'm struggling to get into my shimano dx pedals.

The trails I tend to ride are pretty slippy and steep, and usually very muddy, due to Scotland's glorious climate.

Before I revert back to the flats and 5.10s, what better pedal options are there?

cheers

Try the Shimano m530s,easier to engage than the dx,I noticed straight away I went from the 530 to the dx.plus they're cheap if you decide to go back to flats.i use am45 shoes.

Try less tension on the pedal mechanism as well, it may help you get used to getting in to the pedal, then when it's second nature, you can increase the tension to where you are comfortable.

I have the tension really low. And still can't get my rear foot back in too well.

What shoes are you using? Some shoe/pedal combos don't always work well together, as the soles can get in the way when trying to clip in.
