Hello,

Does anyone know where some good professional grade downhill/gravity tracks are at in the Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas area. I live near Huntsville, AL and the only downhill trail that I have found is at Coldwater mountain. I'm looking for doubletrack with some big jumps and berms. I would like it to be less than a 5 hour drive from Huntsville too Smile

Thanks for the help,
Hunter

Two I can think of off the top of my head are Wind Rock in TN and Bailey in NC. Wind Rock should be ~ 4hrs drive and Bailey would be around 5hrs. A Snowshoe trip would be worth the 9 hrs though.

Check out TTC just north of Chatt. It's no joke legitimate. One of the regulars is from Cullman. Dirty Jerm.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I've been looking to plan a trip to TTC soon after I found their group on Facebook so I'll let you know how that goes. I'll try Windrock soon too as I see it just opened recently.

There is plenty of pucker factor there now, the trails are growing/expanding quickly......once the upper mountain opens you'll have all the pucker you want and then some. Will be over 2200 vert. Many of the trails have been there for 15 years or so but the new bike park crew has really turned them into new forms of awesome that have much better flow than the old routes utilizing fresh new trails and sections they just built in the last few months. Its the best dh on the east coast for your money, open year round, and they run shuttles every saturday/sunday regardless of conditions.

Thanks!!
4 hours from Charlotte means hopefully I can find some dudes to head there with. Any closer to Charlotte? Any in Ashville. How is baily's bike park? Are there alot of dh/free encyclopedia ridemail guys, or Enduro? Any bike groups to join for groups rides or getting to know ppl?
Thanks again!

Check the "windrock bike park riders" facebook page, maybe post up a comment looking for people to ride with, im sure there is plenty of guys in that area. Bailey is good but I think what your looking for is at windrock. Also if you like dh in nasty conditions bailey may not be open. You can count on windrock to be open regardless of conditions. There is also really good stuff in pisgah and dupont national forests and other DH options once summer lift season opens at the resorts but even the best east coast lift parks dont have the pucker factor windrock has.

Also northwest arkansas has some great flow trails. Eureka springs especially, also has a shuttle service.

If you are looking for more info. on either Windrock Bike Park or Bailey Bike Park, there are some good sources below. Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain in North Carolina run the lifts in the summer for mountain bikes.
