So I’ve narrowed down my choice, simply based on availability and my budget, to RockShox 30 Gold RL 120 mm. And I need to have QR 9 mm. It's for my Rockhopper Comp.

So I’m looking for any reviews or first hand experience about this fork I know it’s not the best one on the market, but I it’s all I’ll be able to afford to replace my SR Suntour XCR. And I found a good deal(I think) on Ebay.

Hi. I got tk gold 100mm on a old 26" blitz i upgraded a bit, and my son's 13 beta 650b has 30 RL 120mm. First off I'd say how much do you weigh? As their better suited to lighter riders. Their not bad forks for what they are , being only 30mm and with 9mm qr there will always be flex. I took the blitz to a local MTB trail once while I was waiting for my lyriks to arrive for my other hardtail, and to be honest the forks handled it okay, and my son's 30 120 did good also. But to be honest , i'd say hang tight with what you got , and save a bit more money up . If your going to upgrading from a RL fork you don't want another RL fork as it's a very short sighted , not very cost effective and marginal upgrade.TheirJust okay for light trails really. Honestly even if you've gotta put up with your current fork for another 6 or 8 weeks it would be worth it to get a set with R C adjustments. I'd say do your home work ,go online and get to know what forks are good and what are not so good,and their prices you'll soon learn. keep your eyes open on the interweb for deals on forks , also Amazon and eBay. I can't remember their name but if you put DT SWISS wheelsets new in search on eBay you will find a polish company who do a lot of deals on wheelsets, but also on forks and other stuff.they do a lot of DT SWISS forks and other forks at good prices, their a good shop I've purchased 2 wheelsets from them with no complaints. It's worth a look. If your bike has 26" wheels your get better deals. I built a ON ONE 456evo11 put a used set of Marzocchi 44 RL140 9mmQR they were a good set of forks, after 4or5 months i put them in for a service, bushes worn needed seals and oil change, was getting restless waiting so looked for new forks , I really hit the web hard . I came across a bike shop in France that were clearing last of old stock , The add was a bit lost in translation but took a chance, I got a set of 26" Lyrik 160 rc2l for £300 new , had to buy a new front wheel as 20mm axle, but as 26" got a very good deal. And after I started using them there's no going back to RL forks. So just save your money , put up with your forks and I gaurentee when you get a set of forks with RC adjustments you will thank me.
