Good people,

The other evening I noticed that after I installed a new rear wheel rim on my 2004 big hit comp that it is not centered between the chain stays and seat stays. Looking at the wheel directly from the back of the bike it sits more to the right by about 0.5".

The rim is true so I am wondering what might be causing the misalignment?

Thanks in advance.

That is called the dish of the wheel. Your hub is straight in the dropouts and rim sits to one side to allow clearance for your gears.

When it comes to that particular bike, they do run a larger than normal dish for whatever reason. So long as it isn't rubbing anywhere then you're good to go.

Yeah bighits run zero dish, so just take the bike to a shop and they'll have it centred in 5mins.....
