RS made these a while ago, but i can't seem to find them for sale in the US anywhere. I need one for a straight 1-1/8" steer tube. If anyone has one for sale or trade, Or knows where to get one online, let me know.

You can't take a file or side grinder to a top cap?

Putting a drill down the star nut beside the actual center nut shouldn't be that difficult either... jus sayin

i'm using a bmx type hollow bolt/starnut now. there are three problems with it,
1. i have to completely remove my brake cable /line to adjust the headset or remove the topcap.
2. the cable / brake line curves high up above the bars before going straight down into the cap. more likely to kink when the bike is upside down or otb crashes.
3. the housing or brake line gets chewed up on the starnut from the cable moving up and down with the suspension.

driling the side of the cap and nut would only solve #1.
if i run a turncoat with a hydro brake, i could easily remove the stem or fork without bleeding the brake if you are carefull when disconnecting the brake lne from the lever. with a mech disc' i just disconnect the cable head from the lever.
