17 Trance 2 Rear Braking Question

I just picked the bike up a month ago and have only had time for 2 short rides. But noticed I'd like to get more rear braking from it.

That being said, I'm kind of a noob at MTB, but raced a lot of BMX as a kid. Now I'm just a big kid lol!

Anyways, I'd like to be able to lock it up to slide it when I want to. Going through some short tighter berms / corners I wanted more braking and it just wasn't there. Although the rear suspension was compressed pretty good... Sketched me out a bit, so now I just go a bit slower into turns until I get some more braking.

Thoughts?

If you need more power,
- bleed brakes, clean rotors and pads
- get bigger rotors (with apropriate adapter of course)
- get good 4-piston brake (i.e. Zee/Saint).

Order above is based on pricing Smile

Out of the box I had awesome breaking and I'm 200lbs. Had the stock rear nobby nic 2.2 and 2.3 front. The shimano b615 are excellent brakes. How much do u weigh? Try straightening your legs and digging your heels down through your pedals when breaking, it will be night and day if u want to stop harder without death gripping the brake.

I would give the pads some time to break in. Try going fast and braking hard almost to a complete stop then repeat a few times
