The specs say 2.8" is the max width tire for 29, but 3.0" will fit on 27.5. Anyone tried a 3.0" 29+ tire on this fork? The new Stache 9.7 comes with a Pike and has 3.0" tires, just not sure it's the same fork. I'd like to upgrade my Stache to the Pike, but don't want to drop the coin unless it is actually going to work.

hi there,

- from what i know is, 29'' forks differ from 27.5'' in terms on the axle to fork crown height.
- the chupacabra 29 x 3.0" tire isn't that wide for the side knobs doesn't protrude out that it hits the lower legs.
- rim width also determines the overall profile of a tire.

you ougta get the Pike 29'' version.

I ended up just dropping the coin on a new Stache with the Pike. I needed a size larger than my current Stache anyway. I should see if I can find a model number on the fork and confirm/deny whether it's the same model you can now purchase. I will post up here with what I find in case anyone else is wondering.
