Any frame changes to Bronson 2 during its lifespan?

Quick question.....My buddy damaged the rear triangle of his 2015 Bronson 2 CC. I think 2015.... it's the first year the Bronson 2 came out, the matte black with grey logos. He talked to the local shop about a crash replacement and was given the option to buy a whole new frame, for $1,100. We thought that maybe they'd just replace the rear triangle as opposed to the whole frame, and when he asked about it, he was told the rear triangle wasn't available, as Santa Cruz had "done some changes to the frame since then". Other than color, did they really make changes to the frame, within the time the Bronson 2 has been out? I called Bs, but certainly didn't know for sure. If they did change it, wouldn't it then be the Bronson 3? Any help you Santa Cruz guys can provide would be helpful. Thanks!!!!
