Attaching wood to solid rock

I plan on revamping an old section of trail at a local DH/Freeride spot. It's a large rock step down to a dirt landing. The orginal dirt run up to the lip of the rock has long since washed away so I wanted to attach a 2'x4' section of wood(with some tacked on chicken wire or other grip) to the rock for the launch as a sturdier solution.

Hammer drill with diamond tip bit? What sort of screws/bolts/fasteners are recommended? Or should I just forgo attaching anything?

It's a pretty large feature with a sketchy run in. It's about 16ft tall with a 22ft gap. I also wanted build up the landing by about 2ft since it has dwindled over the years.

I had some pictures of the rock but I can't seem to find them at the moment.

I wouldn't try & attach wood to rock unless there's no other option. If you can hold the wood section just away from the rocks, I've used long pieces of rebar to drill thru the wood & pound into the earth. You can fill in the gap w/ rocks.
